The aim of this course is to provide each participant with a clear understanding of their Revenue responsibilities as a self-employed person and an understanding of how their business fits into the VAT and self-assessment tax system. It will give participants a detailed understanding of their income tax obligations and tips on how to reduce their tax bill. They will also learn about VAT and the implications of VAT registration on their business. It will teach the participants important areas such as, tax deductible expenses, VAT and income tax rates, VAT thresholds, tax credits, important Revenue dates and deadlines, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of registering for VAT.
