About Dr John Cosgrove & IDEAM (Irish Design Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (IDEAM) Research Institute)
Dr John Cosgrove is Section Head of Electrical Engineering and Director of Smart Manufacturing at TUS and a Lead Researcher in Industrial Control Systems & Digitisation with over 30 yrs experience working with industry on innovation solutions. Trained as an Electrician and Electrical Engineer, John also hols a Master in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and a Professional Doctorate in Engineering. John is a Founder and Director of the IDEAM Research Institute in TUS and has been awarded competitive funding as PI and leads a number of large-scale initiatives, including the DigiWIND project, the PhD programme in Digitalisation Engineering, the IDEAM Industry cluster (www.ideam.ie), the Smarter Factory Technology Gateway, the EU Digital Innovation Hub and much more.
