Cavan Local Enterprise office may offer grants to qualifying enterprises (no greater than 10 employees), to assist in participation in overseas trade fairs, shows and exhibitions. These supports are offered on an application basis and are subject to available funding. Cavan LEO provides a limited number of grants each year and all applications for exhibition supports are dealt with on an individual basis. CAVAN LEO - TRADESHOW MARKETING SUPPORT SCHEME 2016 - NOT OPEN AT THIS TIME
This scheme is designed to help qualifying micro enterprises (existing enterprises employing at least one person on a full-time basis and not more than 10 employees) part-fund the cost of exhibiting at a national or international trade show/exhibition, and produce a corporate brochure for the purpose of targeting export markets.
This scheme will make provision for financial assistance of up to a maximum of €1,000 or 50% of the total eligible cost (excluding VAT) as incurred by the applicant.
The above limit will apply to each grantee on an annual basis (i.e. no applicant may make more than one application or receive more than €1,000 in 2016).
Conditions
- The Enterprise marketing support scheme will be confined to qualifying micro-enterprises (employing at least one person on a full-time basis and not more than 10 employees) which are registered and located in County Cavan.
- All applications are subject to evaluation.
- Professional services are ineligible for grant aid under this scheme (i.e. accountants, solicitors, consultants, financial intermediaries, etc.), and as per national policy priority will be given to enterprises involved in manufacturing or internationally tradable services.
- Financial support shall not be provided retrospectively and expenditure incurred prior to the date of any LEO approval is ineligible for grant aid purposes.
- Financial support cannot be provided where the activity or event is also being supported or co-funded by another national or EU supported agency or body.
- This scheme when open will apply to 2016 only, and the approved sum must be fully drawn down on or before 1st July 2016. Any sums that are approved but not drawdown by this date will automatically be de-committed and re-allocated to other schemes and programmes.
- Payment of the grant will be made on the basis of vouched expenditure, duly receipted, when all approved works are completed. Clients are also required to submit a brief written report on the outcome of the activity including key contacts made at the show, any confirmed orders, and expected increase in turnover as a result of the show.
- All claims for payment must be accompanied by original invoices and proof of payment (i.e. copy of bank statement showing payment(s) going through client’s bank account. All original invoices etc. can be returned after processing. Only one final claim can be made throughout the year.
- The applicant shall participate in whatever training initiatives that shall be deemed appropriate from time to time by Local Enterprise Office Cavan.
- All applications must be fully completed and accompanied by a written quotation from third party persons/companies tendering for the work. Only third party costs qualify - i.e. the cost of work you have commissioned others to do. All incomplete applications will be returned.
- Payment of the approved amount will be discharged after the approved enterprise has demonstrated that the work is complete or the project has been completed and evidence has been provided of vouched expenditure duly receipted.
- Purchase of any hardware or fixed assets is excluded from the scheme.
- Funds are limited and will be allocated as part of a competitive application process. Cavan LEO reserves the right to terminate this scheme at any time subject to the availability of funding. At any stage only assistance approved in writing can be deemed approved.
- Any false or misleading statement or the withholding of essential information from Cavan LEO (as determined by Cavan LEO) will result in cancellation of any grant approved under the scheme. Cavan LEO reserves the right to liaise/consult with other agencies/local development companies in relation to this application while respecting project confidentiality.
- Only direct costs associated with renting space, a stand (e.g. shell) or other direct costs from the Trade Fair/Exhibition organisers are eligible. Note: own labour/travel/accommodation costs will not qualify for assistance under this scheme.
- The scheme is aimed at supporting enterprises that are looking to expand their commercial business nationally and internationally. Qualifying Trade Fairs/Exhibitions will exclude displays at shopping centres, locally focused craft or other fairs/shows/exhibitions where subsidised space may be made available. Priority will clearly be given to international fairs including where the Board may have previously provided stands for sharing by a number of qualifying enterprises.
- As part of the application please attach a page listing what trade fair/exhibition you wish to attend, the date(s) of the fair, and the venue. Applications should incorporate all Trade Fairs for participation in 2016 as multiple applications cannot be accepted.
- The approval of the LEO must be obtained before the date of the actual show/exhibition.
- Claims should include evidence of exhibiting or attending at the approved show together with vouched expenditure, duly receipted.
- Eligible costs may also include the cost of producing a corporate marketing brochure targeted at export markets as may be required to assist in promoting the enterprise at a national/export focused tradeshow. This may include cost for translation of promotional materials. Any other printing costs are ineligible e.g. business cards, letterheads, flyers, etc. .
- The design of the brochure must represent a high quality publication which should clearly incorporate details on the background of the enterprise, the products/services offered, and the reasons why a potential international client would use the services of the enterprise.
- Evidence must be submitted as part of the application to illustrate that the brochure to be designed and produced is to be used as part of an export marketing campaign.
