CNET – Cavan Employers HR & Skills Network was established in 2018 by Local Enterprise Office Cavan and Cavan Monaghan ETB. The aim of the network is to help employers and managers in County Cavan support their employees, develop their employees and help them to be effective in managing their people so that their business can grow and thrive. CNET Network is for employers of all sizes, whether you are a small business with a few employees or a large organisation with hundreds of employees. CNET had a number of events last year with a focus on providing practical information and help to employers and managers to support and develop their employees so that they can contribute their best to the growth of their enterprise. Previous events have included Martin McVicar, Managing Director of Combilift in Monaghan sharing his experience of growing his team from 3 to over 400 people. William Maher, Barrister, delivered a seminar on the latest Employment Law and Sean Gallaher shared what he has learned about motivating staff.

Speaking about CNET, Marcella Rudden, Head of Enterprise at Local Enterprise Office Cavan, said “This network was set up as a result of feedback that the Local Enterprise Office and Cavan Monaghan ETB received from our engagements with employers. Many indicated that they wanted to access relevant information on HR issues and developing the skills of their employees. Many SME's don’t have dedicated HR functions and so rely on the owner or someone else who isn’t a HR specialist to deal with the HR and Skills needs. Through the CNET Network we provide employers with information and direction on these areas.”

John Kearney, CEO of Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board added “We want to use this Network to identify common skills gaps and how we can support enterprises in the County to have highly skilled people. We believe this will help Cavan enterprises to achieve growth and remain competitive.”
