The CNET Network is for employers of all sizes, whether you are a small business with a few employees or a large organisation with hundreds of employees.

Guest Speakers

John Kieran, General Manager, Frozen Business, Kerry Foods. John Kieran

John has over 30 years experience of manufacturing in the food industry, having started his career off in engineering, he has also been a leader in various roles, at site - multi site - divisional and group level. With expertise in Acquisitions - Business Integrations - Major Capital investment projects. He currently has E2E responsibility for the KERRY Foods Carrickmacross business with >500 employees and >€100m turn over. John also is the SME lead for engineering graduates & apprentices for the whole of KERRY Foods sites.

John is heavily involved in GAA, locally with his Club Killanny and at county level, in 2012/2013 he was Co Monaghan GAA PRO transforming all systems and activity. Currently he is the Co sponsor liaison officer and acts as support to the Co Board.

John Kearney, Chief Executive of Cavan Monaghan Education & Training Board (CMETB)

Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) provides a broad range of education and training programmes to develop emerging talent in the region to service training and employment requirements and trends with Cavan Institute and Monaghan Institute providing a comprehensive and responsive range of Lifelong Learning Programmes.

The provision of both Institutes is complemented by an extensive delivery of blended learning and evening education and training programmes which will be discussed during the event by John Kearney and his colleagues in CMETB.


CNET IN 2019

CNET, short for Cavan Employers HR & Skills Network, was established in 2017 by Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan and Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB). The aim of this business network is to help employers and managers in County Cavan support their employees, develop their employees and help them to be effective in managing their people and positively impact on business performance.

We want to engage with as many employers in the County as possible to ensure continued success of the network and most importantly, valuable learning and support to network members.

We have five exciting and informative CNET events planned for 2019. Events will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6.15pm-8.15pm. All event information, including venue location for each event, will be updated on our website closer to each date. Remaining dates for 2019 are as follows:

  3. 23rd October
  4. 27th November

The Annual Membership Fee for 2019 is €40 and covers attendance at 5 meetings/workshops and supper. 

CNET Network Co-ordinator

Our CNET Network Co-Ordinator for 2019 is Francis Verling, Verling Consulting. Francis has gained significant experience working with SME'S in areas of business development, sales & marketing, new product / service development for SMEs and owner manager businesses.
