The workshop is aimed at business owners/managers and priority will be given to those businesses with significant exposure to Brexit impacts.

If the UK leaves the Customs Union and Single Market, it will become a ‘Third Country’ for customs purposes. Learn about the potential impacts, formalities and procedures you will need to adopt when trading with a country which is outside the Single Market and Custom Unions (a ‘Third Country’). Open to businesses from all sectors, this workshop will cover areas such as what export and import procedures apply, how tariffs work and how to correctly classify goods.

These workshops are fully funded by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.

Aimed at SME Owner / Managers, workshop content will include:

  • The administration process around import and export procedures.Getting Ireland Brexit Ready
  • Customs formalities at borders.
  • Understanding the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) process.
  • Understanding tariffs and the cost implications of tariffs.
  • Goods classification, valuation and origin
  • Export & Import procedures - Electronic Declaration Process, ‘Automated Entry Processing’ (AEP), ‘Single Administrative Documents’ (SAD)
  • ‘Economic Operator Registration and Identification’ (EORI) and time limits involved in lodging export declarations
  • Deferred Payment Accounts
  • How to implement procedures that limit exposure to duties and tariffs
