LEO Cavan will host this morning seminar to give you an insight into the benefits of using Business Networks to drive your business competitiveness, both domestically and internationally.

This will give you an opportunity to hear how the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and PLATO Network have increased two companies' competitiveness in the marketplace. See details of our guest speakers below:

Patrick Joy, Executive Chairman, Suretank Ltd. (former PLATO participant)

Patrick will tell his story of Suretank, the world’s leading supplier of engineered solutions to the Offshore Oil and Gas industry with turnover exceeding €70 million.  Holding a 62% global market share, Suretank is also the leader in the transport tank industry and currently employs 700 people. Patrick’s is a great success story which includes the recent sale of the business.

A winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year, Patrick also represented Ireland at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in Monaco. He was among 60 country winners, representing 51 countries, to be inducted into the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame and compete for the world title. This prestigious accolade is awarded on the basis of six criteria: entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, innovation, global impact and personal integrity/influence.

Gareth McMeekin, Business Development Manager, Wright Quarry Products (current EEN participant)

Gareth is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has been working with Wright Quarry Products in the Precast industry since he graduated in 2001.

His involvement in the company has developed through a variety of technical and managerial roles over the last 14 years. As Structural Precast Manager he oversaw the downsizing and return to growth of the precast department after the crash of 2008 and a subsequent shift in focus to the UK market.

In 2013 Gareth stepped back from the day to day operations management of the precast department in order to facilitate new developments. He now wears the title of Business Development Manager and he has primarily worked on the implementation of Lean principles in the management structure and the development of new products over the last two years.

Our other guest speakers will include:

Dr. Cecilia Hegarty, Director of PLATO EBR (East Border Region);

PJ O'Reilly, Enterprise Ireland (Regional Manager - EEN, Technology Transfer, Licensing);

Vincent Reynolds, Head of Enterprise, LEO Cavan;

Michael Tunney, Head of Enterprise, LEO Donegal.
