Founded in 2022 by ceramic artist Ola, Stories by Ola is a Balbriggan-based creative business located within the stunning grounds of Ardgillan Castle. Specialising in handcrafted ceramics, Ola produces functional yet artistic pieces inspired by the textures, colours and movement of the Irish coastline. Each item is carefully made using a combination of slab-building and slip-casting techniques, and her work is now stocked in design shops across Ireland and even internationally.
As a growing small business, Stories by Ola has been supported by the Local Enterprise Office Fingal. Through the Green for Business Programme, Ola was able to assess her environmental impact and take practical steps to improve energy efficiency within her studio.
Following the programme, Ola successfully availed of the Energy Efficiency Grant, which enabled her to replace her old kiln with a larger, more energy-efficient model. This crucial upgrade allowed her to scale up production while significantly reducing energy usage - supporting both business growth and sustainability.
Ola’s experience with the Energy Efficiency Grant and support from Local Enterprise Office Fingal has been transformational for her business. You can hear Ola's full Energy Efficiency Grant story in this video case study below.
