Fingal Local Enterprise Office (LEO) has announced annual results for the first half of 2024 which revealed that the LEO played a pivotal role in supporting 88 small businesses across Fingal. The support, valued at €645,000, is expected to facilitate the creation of 101 jobs in eligible small enterprises and start-ups. by supported companies.
The new figures show that the LEO Fingal financially supported 88 small businesses across Fingal. Over the course of 2024 so far, LEO Fingal approved €645,800 in funding for eligible small enterprises.
This comes as members of Fingal’s business community were out in force to celebrate a prosperous 2024 along with Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh, Director of Economic, Enterprise, Tourism & Cultural Development at Fingal County Council, - John Quinlivan and the Head of Enterprise at LEO Fingal, Oisín Geoghegan. Local business owners who successfully secured funding were honoured with certificates, officially acknowledging the support provided by LEO Fingal to their businesses.
In attendance were representatives from businesses approved for various supports including the Business Priming Grant, Feasibility/Innovation Grant, Business Expansion Grant, Trading Online Voucher and Export Development Grant, all aimed at stimulating enterprise, job creation and sustainable growth.
A diverse range of businesses in the Fingal area, spanning sectors such as food and beverage production, financial services, health and beauty, training and development, healthcare, craft & design, environmental, and more, successfully secured funding during the first half of 2024.
Speaking at the event, Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh said: “Fingal has a lot to offer when it comes to business with a diverse range of enterprises throughout the county. The Local Enterprise Office is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment that encourages entrepreneurship and growth with their wide range of supports”.
Oisín Geoghegan, Head of Enterprise in Fingal, added: "Despite the challenges encountered by local businesses, including rising costs and competitiveness hurdles, promising start ups are continuing to emerge and prosper. It’s encouraging to see a substantial number of businesses actively investing in their future growth. The Local Enterprise Office is delighted to continue supporting and facilitating this ongoing growth."
