As momentum builds around shopping locally this year, we are delighted to give details of current exciting initiatives to help you to attract customers to your business over the coming weeks and months.
Look for Local
Local Enterprise Offices across the country, including LEO Fingal, are running a national #LookforLocal campaign to highlight the importance of local businesses to our communities while strongly encouraging people to support local B2C & B2B businesses. There is also an opportunity to receive a free listing for your business.
As part of the drive to encourage people to support local businesses, Local Enterprise Offices will mount a substantial media campaign asking people to #LookforLocal.
The campaign consists of:
- Airtime on RTE Radio, Today FM and Newstalk
- Local newspaper advertising
- Paid social media and digital promotion
- A four-week partnership with The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk that will spotlight local businesses.
To make the most of the increased awareness of #LookforLocal, we invite you to use this hashtag when posting online about your products and services, adding your voice to the call for people to support local businesses.
Local Enterprise Office will aim to amplify those posts on our local social and national social media channels.
Here are some ideas on what to do to take part:
- Create a short video highlighting your business, what it does and asking people to #LookforLocal
- Post some imagery of your products or services.
- Share some ideas about why your product/service would make an ideal gift or who might be the perfect recipient!
Do whatever works for you and your business, always ensuring you use #LookforLocal.
Similarly, if you have a great story around your business this year, have you made some interesting changes, or are doing something a little different as we look towards Christmas and 2021, let us know. There may be an opportunity for you to tell your story on local and national media.

Fingal In It Together for Christmas
"Fingal In It Together for Christmas", an initiative by Fingal County Council, provides an opportunity for a free promotional listing for your business on a platform that will actively be promoted to the local community in the run-up to Christmas.
The Fingal In It Together for Christmas will provide an online central location where people can access locally owned businesses.
The platform is located at www.Fingal.ie/Christmas
To apply for a listing (which is entirely free of charge) for your business, click here: https://arcg.is/qWaDO to complete a short form.
As part of the promotional listing, businesses can add details such as products, services, location or website (if applicable). You may also upload a photo and share links to your social pages.
Your application will be reviewed and added to the site within 48 hours.
Fingal County Council will actively market the page to local people, encouraging them to support small local businesses as they do their Christmas shopping.

Shop Fingal
Shop Fingal, an initiative by Local Enterprise Office Fingal, is currently ongoing with over 150 businesses receiving promotional opportunities in print, radio and digital media. When posting on social media about your business, make sure you use #ShopFingal and fly the flag for local Fingal businesses.
