Local Enterprise Week launched in Fingal with Packed Programme of Events Set to Take Place
Fingal Local Enterprise Office (LEO) has announced a series of exciting business events and initiatives for Local Enterprise Week (LEW) this year, which is happening between the 6
th
and 10
th
of March 2023. LEW will allow local business owner/managers to learn, engage and network in person at events occurring throughout Fingal. In addition, a wide series of online events organised by Fingal and other LEOs will be accessible to businesses throughout Ireland.
To kick off the week, the “Start-Up Bootcamp” will be held in Blanchardstown on Monday morning 6
th
March. This will be an intensive full day bootcamp designed to help anyone starting a new business in 2023. Later that morning Balbriggan Chamber will host a networking event themed “Stop Hesitating: Start Networking!” for Fingal businesses, while on Tuesday a brand-new Export Development Programme will commence and the annual Fingal Enterprise Awards will be hosted later that evening in County Hall, Swords. Wednesday begins with a business breakfast hosted by Fingal Chamber, featuring a special “Behind the Business” Networking Event. Other Fingal events include a Fingal Business Supports Briefing, and a social media focused workshop.
To conclude the week, local businesswomen are invited to attend a special lunchtime networking event with renowned stylist and TV personality Sonya Lennon, who will speak on the topic of “challenging your own relationship with fear and action”.
Many other events are accessible online, including a Trading Online Voucher Webinar, a green panel discussion focusing on green issues, a “You're the Business” session hosted by Google, a First Steps to Export Success webinar and much more.
Attending the launch of the programme was
Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Howard Mahony
who advocated for all small enterprises to avail of the wide range of supports available to them: “Through the Local Enterprise Office, Fingal County Council is providing vital services and assistance to our local business community. I am thrilled to see the encouragement and support small businesses receive from our Local Enterprise Office on a continuous basis.”
AnnMarie Farrelly, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council,
further added: “In Fingal, maintaining a thriving business community and local job creation is a key priority. So, I am especially pleased to see that a wide range of in-person business events has been incorporated into this year’s schedule which should ensure Fingal businesses reap the reward. Local Enterprise Week presents a great opportunity to network and learn about the latest business developments.”
Oisín Geoghegan, Head of Enterprise in Fingal
concluded: “Local Enterprise Week 2023 features a programme of exciting and engaging events which has been created with the needs of small businesses in mind. A wide variety of initiatives have been lined up to cater to the needs of local businesses whatever stage of development they are at, pre-start, start-up or growth. As with previous years, it’s fantastic to see numerous business support organisations and agencies getting behind Local Enterprise Week once again”.
Many of the online events during LEW 2023 are completely free of charge, or a small nominal fee applies to attend some events in person. To see the full line-up of events for LEW 2023 and book online, visit
