NWED 2019 Launch

National Women’s Enterprise Day (NWED) is set to take place on 17th October this year and the venue for the biggest event celebrating NWED this year is the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown.

An annual initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs), NWED is supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Local Authorities; and aims to inspire, encourage and assist women across Ireland in setting up and running their own business.

This year Fingal LEO will organise the biggest women’s networking event in the country, with what they promise will be “a fast-moving, exciting and intensive morning that is simply unmissable for Dublin’s women in business!”

The theme of this year's Women’s Enterprise Day is 'Making It Happen' and the programme includes a variety of guest speakers, female entrepreneurs, lively panel discussion, small-business case studies, an exhibition of enterprise support agencies as well as plenty of opportunities to network with other female entrepreneurs and business owners.

Gathering at the announcement and the official launch of “NWED Dublin” in Dublin were some keynote speakers and panellists that will feature at the event itself in the Autumn.

Celebrated TV and radio broadcaster Kathryn Thomas of “Operation Transformation” and “The Voice of Ireland” fame was announced as this year’s NWED Master of Ceremonies, while a number of inspiring speakers from several business sectors were also unveiled including: Siobhan Murray, author and resilience coach; Caroline Keeling, CEO of Keelings; Jo Harpur, CEO of Jo Harpur Jewellery; Krissy Gibson, CEO of Take the Cake; Niamh Sherwin-Barry; Director of the Irish Fairy Door Company and Melanie Boylan, Director of STOMP Social Media Training.

Commenting on the plans for NWED this year, Chair of the LEO Network and Head of Enterprise in Fingal, Oisín Geoghegan highlighted that this year’s NWED in Dublin will be the biggest ever: “We have an amazing line-up of speakers and contributors planned for NWED this year, and you can expect a few more surprise announcements in the coming weeks and months. We aim to make this the best, the biggest and the most vibrant business networking and learning event for female entrepreneurs this year”

Manager of the Fingal Enterprising Women Network,Sharon Rossignuolo further added: “Whether you are an aspiring female entrepreneur or already have a business, NWED Dublin promises to be a fantastic day with lots of advice and business insights on offer. Most importantly it is a great opportunity to make valuable business contacts”
