Eight “Fearless” Business Heroes to feature at a business summit on 9th March 2017

Fingal Local Enterprise office has announced details of the eight local entrepreneurs that will feature in “FEARLESS 2017 – the Entrepreneurs Journey”, a major business event to be held in the Riasc Centre (Swords) on 9th March.

Hosted by Today FM presenter Conall O’Morain, the free event on the 9th March will be held in Riasc in Swords and is geared at anyone who is running a business in Fingal or in the process of establishing their own business.

“FEARLESS 2017 - The Entrepreneur’s Journey” will be the highlight of the week-long schedule of business events that will be occurring all around Fingal. “Local Enterprise Week” is an initiative of the Network of Local Enterprise Offices (“LEOs”) across Ireland, and Fingal LEO will be actively promoting Enterprise and business opportunities throughout the week.

Commenting on the plans for this year’s event, Paul Reid, Chief Executive at Fingal County Council said: “In Fingal, we are very fortunate to have a wealth of entrepreneurial talent and I am delighted that we are celebrating the fruits of this talent once again at this year’s ‘Fearless 2017’ event. I have personally met each of the eight up-and-coming entrepreneurs and I must say I am most impressed with these individuals and what they have achieved in their business start-ups in a relatively short space of time. We need to encourage job creation in small and start-up businesses and our Local Enterprise Office here in Fingal is very actively and successfully promoting enterprise in the County to achieve this objective.”

The eight businesses that are due to feature at the FEARLESS 2017 event are all finalists in this year’s Fingal Enterprise Award competition.

Accompanying Today FM’s Conall O Móráin on stage on the evening of FEARLESS will be the three dragons who will be quizzing each of the entrepreneurs. They are Michael Dawson (CEO of One4All Gift Voucher Shop), Deirdre O’Neill from Enterprise Ireland and Neal Morrison (partner with McInerney Saunders).

Head of Enterprise, Oisín Geoghegan, said “We have lined up eight excellent up-and-coming entrepreneurs for the FEARLESS event. They will each give their story and reveal the secrets of how they have overcome huge challenges to emerge as successful entrepreneurs. In business, you can learn a lot from people who have the battle scars of getting a business off the ground and this is certain to be an exhilarating and exciting learning experience for all”.

As well as the FEARLESS event, Fingal LEO has lined up many other events during Local Enterprise Week, including technology events, business advice clinics, a major Brexit breakfast seminar, a food sector event, a Start Your Own Business Bootcamp, and many more”. The overall winner of the “Fingal Enterprise Award” will be announced at the end of FEARLESS on 9th March. The winner will go on to represent Fingal at the National Enterprise Awards competition in May 2017. Fingal has an excellent track record at the National Enterprise Awards, winning the overall award twice since 2005 and featuring in the “final 8” nationally on numerous occasions, including Keogh’s Crisps who scooped the “Best Start-Up in Ireland” award in 2013 and most recently Skerries based Invizbox, who received the “National Innovation Award” in 2016.
