From Crowdfunding to Mobile Technology Enterprise Week Is Underway

The ‘Great Customer Care Builds Better Business’ event saw Senator Feargal Quinn, Declan Meagher of the Carlton Hotel and Louise Bannon of Dublin Airport Authority give their insights into how customer care can build loyalty and support business growth while the first in a series of Technology Masterclasses took place, with an Online Masterclass hosted by Paypal with eBay focusing on online payment systems.

These Technology Masterclasses, specially devised by the organisers to support SMEs in using new technologies, are continuing throughout the week with a Mobile Technology Masterclass aimed at helping small businesses use mobile technology to work smarter and Social Media Masterclasses focusing on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Seminars on managing workload, Procurement, Marketing and Taxation are also running over the five days while companies working in the food, travel and tourism sectors are invited to attend the Dublin Food Chain workshop event on Wednesday, 2nd October.

‘Accessing Finance To Grow Your Business’, taking place on Thursday, 3rd October is putting a roundtable panel of some of Ireland’s leading finance experts, including Linked Finance, the crowdfunding website, Hban, angel investors, Microfinance Ireland, Fingal County Enterprise Board and Bank of Ireland in front of business owners.  This is followed by a dynamic networking event at Fingal County Hall, hosted by Fingal County Council and broadcaster Keelin Shanley, where the 2013 Fingal Enterprise Award winner will be revealed.
“The Fingal Enterprise Week programme of events has been carefully constructed using our knowledge of the needs and issues facing small business owners and new start-up businesses to create practical and informative events that are relevant in today’s fast-moving business world,” said Oisin Geoghegan, CEO of Fingal County Enterprise Board.
“From technology to customer care to accessing finance, this is a unique and ambitious programme of events for small business owners,” he added.
Running until Friday, October 4th, the initiative is the brain-child of Fingal County Enterprise Board, and sponsored by Vodafone Ireland, Fingal County Council, Bank of Ireland, Regus and Newstalk.

Other highlights of the week include a seminar on exporting Craft & Design on Friday, 4th October, a series of ideas generation workshops throughout the week and an opportunity to pitch for an investment of €1,000.  Free business advice clinics, staffed by experienced business mentors will also be available.
