ICSB 2014 to feature dedicated Entrepreneurs Day

The 59th Annual Conference of the International Council for Small Business 2014 will take place in the DoubleTree by Hilton, Burlington Road from the 11th to the 14th of June 2014.

The theme of this year's conference is ‘Entrepreneurship and Sustainability’, the conference will address the current international movement towards sustainability. The conference will have a mix of keynote speakers, parallel sessions and networking opportunities and dedicated sessions for business practitioners and for policy-makers, plus a marketplace where you can do business.

As part of the conference, Dublin Institute of Technology are organising a dedicated Entrepreneurs Day to take place on Wednesday June 11th. This event is targeted at those entrepreneurs who wish to learn first-hand how successful entrepreneurs have grown their businesses from start-ups to commercially thriving operations. The programme will focus on creativity, funding, leadership and innovation (as applicable to all businesses) as the key themes of the event. There will also be an opportunity to get a better understanding of the power of social media for your business.

The extensive programme will include addresses from Raomal Perera on how to raise money through successful crowd funding campaigns and Nigel Newman encouraging lateral thinking and reimagining success. Serial entrepreneur Noelle O’Connor and Dragon’s Den star Gavin Duffy give their insights into building successful businesses in Ireland while the final address of the day will be given by Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey who are serial entrepreneurs, industry reformers, successful brand builders, and co-founders of hugely successful Barefoot Cellars.

The day aims to allow entrepreneurs to talk practically with fellow entrepreneurs and to leave attendees with a better understanding of good leadership skills, new problem solving techniques and a fresh approach to social media for success.
