Mayor to highlight how Fingal is supporting economic recovery & growth

Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Kieran Dennison will host a major conference on Economic Development in Fingal on April 16th in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Blanchardstown from 08:30 - 13:00.

The “Working Together for Success” conference will examine how Fingal County Council is working with business to create the economic conditions necessary for growth in Fingal and further afield. The event will specifically discuss enterprise across the region, the economic climate for enterprise and how entrepreneurship can be supported and promoted. This free event will bring together business people, multi-national companies, indigenous Irish companies along with local government and state support agencies.

The conference will be hosted by Ethna Felten, Director of Economic Development Service for Fingal County Council. Speakers will include economist Susan Hayes, Tom Cooney - DIT Prof. of Entrepreneurship, and specialist staff from within Fingal County Council’s Economic Development and Planning units. Newly appointed Fingal County Manager Paul Reid will make his inaugural address to the business community at the event.

The conference will take place just one day after the establishment of the new Fingal Local Enterprise Office, (previously Fingal County Enterprise Board). Oisín Geoghegan, Head of Enterprise at Fingal County Council and previously Chief Executive Officer of Fingal County Enterprise Board, will outline how the new structure will benefit the Small Business sector through a new coordinated approach to business support services.
