The aim of this workshop is to help small business owner/managers navigate the HRM & Employment Law landscape by gaining an appreciation of the employment contract, issues of employment equality, employee entitlements as well as matters relating to contract termination and redundancy in a new remote and hybrid working landscape. 

It will provide participants with a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of Irish employment legislation and delve into managing remote employees and the rights of the employees and employers. 

This programme is practical in nature and is designed to ensure Owner Managers are up to date with current employment legislation thus ensuring full compliance.  

Objectives: 

• Gain a general understanding of the legal system and structures in business  
• Have a clear understanding of employment law and legislations  
• Demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics of a contract of employment 
• Develop an understanding of HR policies and procedures 
• Interpret the duties of employer and employee and how the role of law regulates our working environment in order to promote fairness and equality 
• Gain an insight of the importance of GDPR Policy within the workplace and with staff awareness 
• Managing remote workers and teams from a HR perspective
