Mizz Rio (T/A Mizz Rio Bridal) is a client of Local Enterprise Office Fingal and a Ballyboughal‑based, female‑led micro‑enterprise operating in the alternative bridalwear sector. Founded in 2018, the business is redefining modern bridal fashion through bespoke design, a strong brand identity and a steadily growing international customer base.

Recognising a significant gap in the market, Mags explored the existing bridal offering at the time and identified an opportunity to create a brand focused on non‑traditional, personalised bridalwear, prioritising individuality, inclusivity and craftsmanship.Untitled-design---2026-05-08T155848.238

Mizz Rio operates as a designer‑led studio rather than a traditional bridal boutique, offering a calm, one‑to‑one and pressure‑free experience. Brides are guided through a collaborative process focused on clarity and confidence, without expectation to make decisions on the day. This customer‑centric approach has become a key differentiator and a central strength of the business.

The company operates across three core revenue streams. These include a fully bespoke service, where made‑to‑measure gowns are designed and created on a one‑to‑one basis; a curated ready‑to‑order collection of gowns and separates designed in‑house; and an accessories range including statement veils, capes and add‑on pieces. This diversified offering allows Mizz Rio to meet varying customer needs while maintaining exclusivity and design integrity.

Mizz Rio has built a strong reputation both nationally and internationally. While firmly established within the Irish market, export growth has become a significant driver of business expansion, reflecting a global shift towards more personal and intimate weddings. International clients now represent a growing proportion of demand, with customers travelling from countries including the United States, Norway and the United Kingdom to attend consultations. Products have also been shipped to markets such as the US, Australia, Germany and Dubai, demonstrating strong international appetite for the brand’s alternative bridal offering.

Mags has actively engaged with LEO Fingal throughout the business’s growth journey. She participated in the Get Exporting Programme across all three phases, which supported the business in developing export readiness, understanding international markets and planning for sustainable overseas growth. The programme is designed to help businesses gain in‑market exposure, develop export plans and build the skills required to succeed internationally.

Participation in LEO‑led training programmes, seminars and Fingal business networking events has also supported Mizz Rio’s strategic development, peer learning and meaningful connections within the Fingal enterprise community. This has included engagement through the Fingal Enterprise Network and National Women’s Enterprise Day (NWED), providing valuable opportunities to connect with other Fingal‑based and female‑led businesses in a supportive enterprise environment.

In 2024, as the business scaled, LEO Fingal supported Mizz Rio through a Business Expansion Grant. The business also received a Trading Online Voucher and an Export Grant, supporting investigative and website‑related activity as international market opportunities were explored. In addition, Mizz Rio complete the Green for Business Programme aligning with its made‑to‑order model and commitment to responsible business practices.

Mizz Rio’s progress was further recognised when the business was named a finalist at the Fingal Enterprise Awards, acknowledging its innovation, strong market positioning and growth potential.

Looking ahead, Mags Morgan plans to continue expanding Mizz Rio’s export reach while maintaining its founder‑led, sustainable and customer‑focused ethos. With continued support from LEO Fingal, the business is well positioned to scale responsibly and strengthen its presence in international markets.
