This one day course is intended to significantly improve the abilities of participating small businesses in preparing and submitting winning tenders.
The course explores the ways that a business can maximise its chances of success and highlights the important factors that must be considered throughout the tendering process. The course will give participants an understanding of:-
- How public sector and private companies buy their goods and services
- How to source and assess opportunities
- The types of tender and the key stages in the tender process
- What buyers are looking for
- How to develop a clear, systematic process from pre-qualification to a winning presentation, including effective tender writing.

At the end of the course, participants have a full understanding of the tendering process, and specifically will be able to:-
- Utilise the tender process to develop their client base and increase revenue
- Explain the motivations, requirements and methodologies of the tendering organisation
- Understand how to increase their chances of being short-listed and what to do at short listing interviews/presentations
- Be aware of the potential issues and pitfalls in submitting tenders and how to avoid or overcome them
- Adopt a systematic approach to considering and responding to tender requests
- Identify sources of tender opportunities
- Identify the main types of public and private tender processes
- Evaluate tender opportunities against their own business strengths
- Avoid the 'tender trap' - explain why tenders fail
- Develop a tender response based on unique selling points
- Prepare an action plan for a successful tender response
