“How to be resourceful and build resilience”

We are delighted to bring you this online networking event just for women on Friday March 5th to celebrate and mark International Women’s Day. We are proud to have Tipperary's own Dee Ahearn, CEO of Barretstown to share her incredible journey to her current position at Barretstown. Please join us to hear her motivating and inspiring journey of success.

This event will also provide all participants with a great opportunity to avail of some online female company with our online networking sessions facilitated by Theresa Mulvihill.

Dee Ahearn

Dee Ahearn, CEO, Barretstown

Dee is Chief Executive of Barretstown, the children’s charity in County Kildare which provides life changing therapeutic programmes to children affected by serious illness and their families. Since opening its gates in 1994, Barretstown has served over 60,000 campers.   

Barretstown is a member of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, which was founded by Hollywood legend, actor Paul Newman in 1988 and now comprises over 30 camps and programmes globally.

Under Dee’s leadership Barretstown has experienced extraordinary growth with an increase of 286% in the number of children served with minimal increase in costs.

Dee’s background is in strategic and creative marketing and she has held senior leadership positions in Black & Decker Ireland, the Gunne Group and Treasury Holdings. She has served on the Boards of Treasury Holdings and The Make A Wish Foundation, where she held the position of Chair for four years.

In addition to her role in Barretstown, Dee is a member of the Board of Directors of the SeriousFun Children’s Network International.
