Aimed at small business owners/managers, this two part workshop will help develop the skills to effectively manage people in accordance with employment legislation.
This two part workshop will run on Wednesday 19 & 26 March.
Course Content
- Understanding of context of Employment Law within the workplace & role of owner/manager
- Recruitment & Selection – Equality legislation
- Employment Relationship (types of contracts, managing probation, GDPR & handling personal information, how to end contracts)
- Working Time (working hours, breaks, holidays and rest periods
- Equality & Dignity at Work (how to handle bullying or conflict in the workplace)
- Disciplinary & Grievances (how to manage minor employee issues e.g. timekeeping versus major performance issues e.g. breaking rules)
- Leave of Absence (outline of all legal leave including sick leave).
This workshop will include a one hour follow up mentoring session.
