Workshop Overview
Sustainability advocate Ailis Crowley of FASH Forward, Tipperary Tourism and LEO Tipperary, are offering a unique half-day networking event focused on sustainability in the tourism sector.
Rooted in the principles of Regenerative Tourism, this event aims to bring together like-minded tourism providers, creatives and community stakeholders for an immersive experience combining learning, networking and hands-on creativity.
Event Agenda
- Welcome & Networking
- Introduction to the EU waste hierarchy and creative reuse of textile inspiration within hospitality from Ailis Crowley, FASH Forward
- Practical demonstration from Frances, Founder of Lily Mais, on how sheets from the tourism sector can be transformed into an array of fashion and home-ware items
- Participants work one on one to create their own set of napkins from cotton sheets that would otherwise end up incinerated or in landfill
- A bespoke napkin design will be created for the workshop (image shows a sample)

- Brainstorm on creative uses of other textiles within the hospitality sector and resources to keep them in circulation
- Overview of how products can be packaged and resold to create additional revenue streams for tourism businesses
- Learnings tracked to feed into post workshop case study
- Closing with group photos of finished items
- Lunch provided
