Life's A Pitch Inspires Women in Business Across Fingal

More than 100 women in business gathered at Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links on Friday, 11 September for the latest Fingal Enterprising Women Network (FEWN) event, Life's A Pitch. Hosted by Local Enterprise Office Fingal, the event brought together entrepreneurs from across Fingal for a morning of learning, networking and practical communication skills. 

Opening Remarks

The event was officially opened by Oisín Geoghegan, Head of Enterprise at LEO Fingal, who welcomed attendees and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity to learn, connect and invest in themselves and their businesses.

A Powerful Workshop on Communication and Confidence

Facilitated by Sharon Rossignuolo, the workshop was delivered by Catherine Moonan, author of The Pitch Coach, Life's A Pitch and Election Time At The Zoo, and an Executive Pitch Coach who delivers her bespoke Life's A Pitch workshops to corporate audiences internationally. 

Throughout the morning, Catherine shared practical techniques to help attendees communicate their value more effectively, structure their message and deliver a confident and authentic pitch.

One of the most striking aspects of the workshop was the way Catherine demonstrated exactly what she was teaching. Her calm presence, warm tone and thoughtful delivery drew people in from the very beginning. With more than 100 attendees in the room, you could genuinely have heard a pin drop. It was a powerful reminder that how we communicate is often just as important as what we communicate.

Using practical examples, audience participation and interactive exercises, attendees explored how to tailor their message to different audiences, communicate with confidence and tell their business story in a way that resonates.

Learning Through Participation

A key part of the workshop was encouraging participants to put their learning into practice.

Several attendees stepped forward to share their pitches during the session, and it was fantastic to see the confidence, authenticity and professionalism on display. The willingness of participants to engage, contribute and support one another created a positive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the morning.

Congratulations also to the five attendees who were awarded copies of Catherine's books during the event.
