Brexit Mentoring

With uncertainty ahead regarding a deal on BREXIT, Irish companies need to safeguard themselves and prepare for all possible eventualities.

LEO Clare is offering a limited number of FREE Brexit mentoring sessions for Clare-based businesses.

The aim of the intervention is to allow businesses to draw up a BREXIT action plan – and protect themselves from potential negative impacts once the UK leaves the European Union.

Clients will complete an online ‘Brexit scorecard,’ and will then work with a mentor to clearly think through their business strategy, specifically in relation to Brexit, and then to define this strategy in an action plan that is meaningful and measurable.

The intervention will result in a Brexit action plan for each client specific to their business needs to clearly separate their current state of self-assessment and business action plan vis-à-vis their relative positioning on completion of the mentoring programme.

Businesses will be offered one free visit with a mentor.

Over the course of the mentoring session, six key pillars of self-assessment will be examined - including business strategy, operations, innovation, sales/marketing, finance and HR.

The session will explore the causes and effects of BREXIT, threats and opportunities arising from it, and getting your business BREXIT ready.

The scheme will also see businesses educated on ways to streamline and improve their business, with the option to consider further training such as the LEO Clare Lean for Micro programme.

Clients may also be able to access funding for low rates of interest based on the resulting business plan - which clearly outlines the exposure to the client on his/her business model .

THE FIRST STEP FOR INTERESTED BUSINESSES IS TO FILL OUT THE BREXIT SME SCORECARD BY CLICKING HERE

LEO Clare will then be able to view your results and if your business is deemed suitable, we'll assign an appropriate mentor.

The Brexit SME Scorecard online tool has been designed to stimulate companies into thinking about the key areas that may be impacted in their business because of Brexit and to self-assess their level of preparedness. Using the ‘Brexit Scorecard’ online tool micro and smaller businesses can self-diagnose whether they are ready for Brexit. By answering a series of questions online under six key business pillars a comprehensive report is automatically generated which serves as a prompt and discussion document for business owner / managers to consider as part of their planning for Brexit. The report provides companies with a benchmark in terms of their level of preparedness against best practice and signposts them to a range of supports, resources and information available via Local Enterprise Offices.
