Financial Supports

Introduction to Financial supports at Local Enterprise Office

This section will provide you with information on the Application forms required when applying for grant aid and give some tips when completing the application.
It is recommended that you make contact with an executive of the LEO prior to the closing date in order to discuss any queries you may have.

Applying for funding

Before making an application for financial support you will be required to prepare a business plan. This helps the Evaluation committee and LEO understand your business idea and how the business will operate.  It is also important that you meet the eligibility criteria required.

Feasibility/Innovation Funding

Up to 60% of the cost of undertaking a feasibility study on an innovative new product or service may be considered subject to a maximum of €20,000.

Priming Grant Aid

Our Priming Funding is designed to assist a micro-enterprise within the first 18 months of start-up. It covers 50% of eligible costs, subject to a maximum contribution of €80,000. Any funding that is issued will be subject to an element of it having to be repaid to the LEO.

Business Expansion Grant

Our Business Expansion Funding is designed to assist a micro-enterprise that has been trading for over 18 months. It covers 50% of eligible costs, subject to a maximum contribution of €80,000. The level of funding provided is determined by the level of job creation identified in the business plan. Consideration will also be given to sustaining jobs already created that have not been previously grant aided.  Any funding that is issued will be subject to an element of it having to be repaid to the Local Enterprise Office.
