Start Your Own Business Programme - Delivered Online.

Daytime Sessions - Starting Tuesday 20th July 2021

The Start Your Own Business Programme is a key support available for new business start ups in Donegal. We are now making this programme available online to help reach those budding entrepreneurs who are isolated and restricted at the moment. Hopefully this will create a time for participants to develop their ideas and plans and get their new business up an running or develop their new business.

  • Start Date: Tuesday 120th July 2021 at 9.30am.
  • Dates & Times: Each Session will run from 9.30am to 1.00pm
    • 20th & 22nd July
    • 27th & 29th July
    • Gap Week
    • 10th & 12th August
    • 17th & 19th August
  • Format: Delivered Online over 8 sessions, Two days per week, across five weeks.
  • Mentoring:  Each participant will be allocated up to 4 Hours of mentoring to help develop their business plan and business idea.
  • Cost:   €100 - Option to pay by installments will be available. Contact our office to avail of this option. 

What do you require to participate Online:

  • Access to a Smart Phone
  • Access to a computer i.e. Desktop / Notebook / or Laptop to complete exercises
  • Broadband

Start Your Own Business Aims:

It is important to plan in advance of setting up a business.  Preparation is the single most important thing you can do to ensure your fledging business gets off the ground and continues flying.

  • Can you develop a competitive and sustainable enterprise?
  • Are you prepared to take the risk?
  • What skills do you require to achieve your objectives?

The programme will guide you through the various aspects of business and business planning.  The objective is to assist you in assessing your idea, its viability and to decide if you should proceed or take a step back.

Week 1 - Delivered Online over two half days.

  1. Introduction – are you fit for purpose when setting up a business?
  2. Support Agencies and Sources of funding.
  3. Investigating Your Business Idea in More Detail.
  4. Time Management and Goal Setting.
  5. Business Structure and Compliance.
  6. The Value of Intellectual Property. Business & Taxation.  

Week 2 – Delivered Online over two half days

  1. Marketing Market Research Analysis – Is there a Gap in the Market?
  2. Marketing, Route to Market “Is there a Market in the Gap?”
  3. Branding Digital Marketing/E-Commere/Social Media Marketing.
  4. Sales Conversion Free Week – No Online Training & Mentoring

Week 3 – Delivered Online over two half days.

  1. Financial Management – Making and Looking after the Money!

Week 4: Delivered Online over two half days.

  1. Business planning The Business Plan – Putting it all together.
  2. Your “Storyboard”, Present for Discussion and Feedback.
