Local Enterprise Office Sligo Student Enterprise Programme works with teachers and students in second level schools to develop an enterprise culture in the county.

LEO Sligo delivers the Local Enterprise Offices National Student Enterprise Programme in second-level Schools across the county. This exciting initiative is open to all Secondary School Students. Teachers receive support from the staff of the LEO's regarding the delivery of the Student Enterprise Programme, and also receive their own USB stick, containing a vast amount of teachers resource materials, and all forms necessary to register for, and participate in the Programme. Students receive their own Student Handbook and support and guidance from the LEO's through the entire process.The aim of the Student Enterprise Programme is to facilitate and assist Students in the establishment and running of their own business during the school year. Student businesses compete for the right to attend the Student Enterprise Programme Sligo County Final, organised by LEO Sligo. Students can compete at 3 different levels – Junior (1st Year), Intermediate ( 2nd & 3rd Year ) and Senior ( Transition Year up to and including Leaving Certificate Students.). An overall winner at each level is chosen to represent their School, County and LEO Sligo at the National Student Enterprise Programme Final.
