Revenue's 'PAYE Modernisation' is set to commence on January 1st, 2019, and represents the most significant change to the PAYE system in Ireland since it was introduced almost 60 years ago.

Real Time Reporting (RTR) is the first stage of Revenue's PAYE Modernisation project, taking effect from that date.

Every time your business runs its payroll in 2019, you will be required to submit to Revenue your pay, tax and other deductions, as well as details of employees starting and leaving the business.

RTR will allow for real time communication between your business and Revenue that relates to employee pay and tax deductions. By operating in real-time, Revenue can ensure that the correct tax deduction is being made at the right time for every employee.

RTR will therefore represent a significant change to your current payroll arrangements.
