To date, succession planning has not been a regular feature within the childcare sector, primarily
because many of the businesses were less than 20 years operating and, for many, the first 15 years
were concerned with ‘struggling to survive’ rather than selling on a ‘viable’ business.

Now, with the childcare sector entering its third decade as an established business sector, the time has come
for owners to address the prospect of succession planning.

Our practical, 3 hour Workshop will address the following topics:

• What does succession planning mean?
• Different forms of succession planning, e.g.:

o Family business
o Staff buyout
o Sale of business

• What do I need to think about when preparing for succession planning? Is there a checklist?
• Impact of ‘Transfer of Undertaking’ upon:

o Property
o Clients
o Staff contracts
o Debts owed and owing

• How do I value my business? Is there a ‘golden rule’ for valuing a business?

• Prior to the Workshop, the Trainer will email you a link to enable you to join the Training at the specified time on the specified date.
