Sligo City Retail Support Programme

New for 2018, this short retail support programme is designed to give your businesses expert advice and strategic focus.
It might be now time to challenge what you are currently doing within the business, and look at real ways to improve your sales growth and profitability.

Who should participate in this Programme?


This programme is targeted at the owner/manager of any business which is consumer-facing, e.g. retailers from all sectors, cafes, restaurant and foodservice outlets, hotels, beauty salons and hairdressers, gyms, opticians and other service providers, etc.

This programme is for business owners and managers only (not for front line staff)


Programme Structure

The Programme is divided into two parts:

  • Part one of the programme consists of a three-hour, early morning seminar which will look at global innovation for retail/consumer facing businesses.
  • There will also be a section of this seminar dedicated to practical sales and marketing tips. The objective of this seminar is to learn from what others are doing and implement new ideas for your business.
  • Part two of the Programme comprises an individual Site Audit/Training Session for your business.
  • This two hour site visit/audit will be delivered by retail expert James Burke, retail advisor's to the TV Prog. 'Fergal Quinn's Retail Therapy'
  • This session is to facilitate customised training for your business in response to your own individual needs.
  • The visit will include a detailed business analysis including, identification of growth opportunities, competitor analysis, opportunities to differentiate,
  • management skillsets, customer service initiatives, etc.

Programme Outputs:

On completion of the seminar and site assessment/training session, your business will have in place the following:

  • A comprehensive written action report detailing practical steps you can take to immediately accelerate your business.
  • You will be more energised and focused on your business, after these site visits.
  • You will be facilitated to stand back and take a more comprehensive approach to your business.
  • Your business will also be challenged on its current operation.
