Meet the Buyer Event

It’s been a busy week for Waterford business as over 100 companies came together to connect and do business through the Meet the Buyer initiative, organised by Waterford Local Enterprise Office and Waterford Chamber .

All throughout the week, companies were matched and held private meetings via Zoom. Due to the unprecedented demand, a further networking event was added, as Jacqui Gaule, Waterford Local Enterprise Office explains. “We certainly didn’t expect the number of companies who registered for the Meet the Buyer meetings and it was impossible to facilitate everybody. As a result, we decided to run a special speed networking event which proved hugely popular and very fruitful for many. We have already been informed of many follow-up meetings which have been scheduled, as well as contracts already agreed, which is the best outcome we could have hoped for. “This is the first time we have done an event like this with Waterford Chamber, but based on the success, we have assured all the businesses involved, we will definitely run it again in the near future.”

According to Gerald Hurley, CEO Waterford Chamber: “Both ourselves and Waterford Local Enterprise Office are very conscious of the fact that businesses have found it increasingly difficult to network and generate sales leads during the pandemic. “With more and more businesses reopening, we wanted to come together to give as many businesses as we could the opportunity to get together and kick-start the recovery. The result far exceeded our expectations and we hope the benefits of the Meet the Buyer week will be long-lasting. Thank you to all the buyers and seller who took part and of course to Waterford Local Enterprise office for partnering with us”.
