Reso Health is a Waterford based Life Sciences company redefining the role of precision nutrition. They propose, with the use of technology, to launch a next-generation nutritional supplement product targeting the workplace. With an increasing focus on employee health and wellness, there is a growing demand for products that can help enhance cognitive performance, reduce stress and fatigue, increase energy levels, and improve overall well-being. Their product will leverage the latest research in nutrition and cognitive science to provide a unique blend of ingredients that can support optimal brain function and physical health.
Ken O’Shea, Co-founder & Chief Technical Officer at Reso Health Ltd explains how access to supports through the Local Enterprise Office has been pivotal to their growth, “We’ve attended numerous training courses, which have helped us better understand the parts of our business that are outside our specific domain knowledge. We’ve also availed of the mentor programme.”
“We’ve received a couple of TAME grants (Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters) which we used to attend international Trade Shows such as Vitafoods Geneva in 2021 and we’re just back from Supply Side East in New York. These events help us better understand our export markets, main suppliers, competitors, potential partners and most importantly our customers. The LEO have helped us from day one. They understand the potential what we’re doing and have supported us every step of the way.”
Reso Health has received a Trading Online Voucher and a Feasibility study grant, which it used to develop some initial product prototypes, a proprietary dispensing device, and an online personalisation platform.
As recently as this Spring it was granted a capital grant which the team at Reso Health is using to install a small-scale manufacturing facility in its new 2000 square foot premises in Tramore. The original plan was to outsource all manufacture but with this capital the team at Reso Health can bring this process inhouse, giving them greater control of the formulation development and manufacturing activities, whilst considerably reducing costs in the long term.
Nutrition and diet, as well as rest and regular exercise, play a vital role in maintaining optimal health. Many find it difficult to prepare and consume a daily diet which contains all the nutrients required to do this. Therefore, supplementing the diet with essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and adaptogens, which can help reduce stress, improve mood, enhance cognitive performance, and support overall well-being is essential.
At Reso Health, with the help of the LEO, they’re continuing to develop its next-generation nutritional supplement product which offers a unique opportunity to tap into the growing workplace wellness market. The plan is to raise investment later this year in preparation for product launch in Ireland, followed by the UK and the US, and they expect to hire the first team members in Q4 this year.
