COVID-19 Supports for Tourism Businesses

COVID-19 Supports for Tourism Businesses

Fáilte Ireland in collaboration with its partners in the trade associations, DTTAS and wider Government, have established a COVID-19 Tourism Industry Advisory Group that brings together representatives from across the tourism sector and Government officials to help monitor and manage the situation for tourism businesses. They have also established a Business Support Taskforce within the business unit of the organisation, focusing solely on supporting industry at this time of crisis, with a focus on both operational guidance and urgent supports to help businesses through this unprecedented situation.

A special COVID-19 webpage has been created on https://www.failteireland.ie/Utility/Covid-19.aspx  which contains useful and practical information and supports for the Tourism industry.

The first set of business support webinars for the industry are now  live on the website and will cover the following topics:

  • Business Liquidity
  • Safeguarding future revenue sources
  • Protecting sales contracts and business relationships
  • The Covid-19 Crisis, The Employer and The Employee
  • Closing Down to Re-Open – The Practical Steps

There is also a set of FAQs to answer industry specific questions which are available on the website and will be continually updated. In addition, the website will be updated with a weekly bulletin on consumer sentiment and behaviour, industry insights, and the international impact of COVID-19. This information will be collated from Failte Ireland’s ongoing engagement with the COVID-19 Tourism Industry Advisory Group.

Failte Ireland will continue to roll out further business supports over the coming weeks to ensure Irish tourism businesses have the cashflow and the sales/marketing plans to re-energise both buyers and consumers.
