Taking your business into the global marketplace makes perfect sense if you are a small or medium enterprise – and it means that you are much more likely to survive in the globally competitive business climate.

International activities reinforce growth, enhance competitiveness and support the long-term sustainability of SMEs, making them more resistant to local and national crises.

However the decision to internationalise, requires planning, flexibility and the ability to adapt. Now, more than ever – in a time of major political and market changes – it is time for businesses to adopt an international outlook.

There is strong evidence to show that internationally active businesses are more innovative and perform better than those who have not embraced internationalisation. Even the smallest businesses can internationalise successfully, but it would appear many do not have the ambition, the information or the knowledge to do so.

This conference, through information and inspiration, aims to inspire those that have not yet made the decision to move outside their current national markets and strengthen the resolve and ambition of those that have already taken on this challenge.

Drawing primarily from the experiences of Irish and International businesses and practitioners who embrace international opportunities, it will provide a unique opportunity for both businesses and business support agencies to gain valuable insights, meet with other businesses and agencies and learn from their peers.
