Top 3 finish for Bridgetown entrepreneur at IBYE Final
Local Enterprise Office Clare has congratulated Bridgetown entrepreneur, Peter Hunt who has secured a Top 3 finish inhis category in Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition.
Peter Hunt of PiggyBack was representing the Region (Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary) in the 'Best Idea' category at the national final in Dublin at the weekend
The LIT Business in Marketing graduate's PiggyBack business idea uses cloud-based technology to provide taxi operators and drivers with key insight into driver performance, demand hotspots and route efficiency. The technology is targeted for release via a mobile and desktop application.
"This is a truly outstanding achievement for Peter who was among 1,400 young entrepreneurs across Ireland that entered the competition," said Padraic McElwee, Head of Enterprise with Local Enterprise Office Clare.
“We are proud to have supported Peter in his development of what is an innovative business idea and we look forward to working with and supporting him in the future. His entrepreneurial thinking and determination are reflective of the growing level of entrepreneurial activity throughout Clare and this bodes well for the future of the local economy," he added.
Earlier this year, Peter Hunt secured €10,000 in investment from Local Enterprise Office Clare after he was named winner of the 'Best Idea' category in the Clare IBYE Final.
A wearable fertility tracking app for women, developed by James Foody, was named overall winner of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur 2015 competition. The Cork businessman received a €70,000 prize for his company.
