What is LEAN?

LEAN is about being effective and efficient - doing things quicker, better and cheaper. LEAN strives to stamp out waste and to continually improve. LEAN tools and techniques are helping companies across all sectors and all sections from e.g production, business processes but also sales and financial strategy. It is NOT just for manufacturing businesses!

What are the objectives?

Participants will have the knowledge and skills to enable them undertake small lean projects resulting in continuous cost reduction improvements in their businesses. This programme will help to:

  • Identify issues and potential improvement areas
  • Provide support to implement
  • Achieve savings and improvements in capability and capacity to deliver

What does the programme involve?

The programme will consist of workshop training offsite to be delivered over 1 full day at the commencement of the programme on April 3rd at Woodlands House Hotel Adare and another half day at the end (date TBC).

It is a requirement for the Business Owner/s to attend on these days.  Another key person involved in the business and project may also attend.

The workshop training will cover:

  • Introduction, overview and benefits of lean principles
  • Lean tools and techniques and how they relate to your business
  • Road map for lean in your business
  • Understanding the nature and scope of lean projects
  • Project selection and scoping for your business

In-company lean assignment:

Participants will receive seven on-site support visits from an Enterprise Ireland approved mentor over a 12 week period.

This programme is highly subsidised at a cost of €300 per business participating (payable online when you are accepted onto the programme) and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis to qualifying businesses.
