That is why since taking office we have put a particular focus on the South East, with the development of the South East Plan and implementation of a range of measures to support job-creation in this region. This strategy is starting to show dividends, with 20,000 extra people at work in the region today compared with 3 years ago, and some significant agency-supported jobs announcement like Nypro, Eishtec, West Pharma and Glanbia. We have also increased the number of site visits to the region and built an advance IDA facility in Waterford.

Speaking about her new appointment today, Anne-Marie said: “I am delighted to be appointed to this key role at a time when renewed focus is to be given to efforts to attract FDI to regional locations. Having a dedicated Regional Manager for the South East is part of that focus. Our new strategy, which will be launched shortly, will set out our aims and the steps we plan to achieve them.”

“ I relish the new challenge this opportunity presents,” Anne Marie said, adding: “We want to build on the strong progress made last year when companies like West Pharma announced the creation of 150 jobs in Waterford,  Bausch & Lomb consolidated its position with an investment of €41M creating 50 new jobs over the next 18 months in Waterford and  ClearStream Technologies announced the creation of a potential 200 new jobs in Wexford, among others.”
