Local Enterprises offered free advertising as part of #belocalonline campaign partnership with Touchpoint Media

“We want people to shop local and be local online” says Tom O’Neill, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council on the announcement of a new partnership between Carlow County Council & Touchpoint Media which will provide local companies with free advertising on Bee Visible in 17 locations in Carlow Town during August & September 2020 supported by Carlow County Councils Local Enterprise Office”. The Cathaoirleach said “hundreds of thousands of people pass our Bee Visible Signage Solution in Carlow Town on a daily basis and as part of our support to the Business Community and County Carlow Chamber in their efforts to promote shopping local we have agreed to this partnership”.

Speaking about the partnership, Ger Walsh, Owner of Touchpoint Media said, “we are delighted to be working with Carlow County Council on this promotional campaign and we look forward to engaging with participating companies to offer them a free solution to promote their local online solution for customers  while also promoting their physical store”.

Carlow County Council, Local Enterprise Office has seen a significant increase in companies engaging with them in respect of investing in their online offering for customers and Aine Carey, Enterprise Executive who manages the Trading Online Voucher and is co-ordinating the #shopcarlow campaign with KCLR said “We have seen hundreds of companies who are now developing their business online to compliment their bricks and mortar store and we are here to support these companies with practical financial and non-financial supports”.

Speaking about supporting the Retail Community, Pauline Hoctor, Senior Enterprise Development Advisor with the Local Enterprise Office said “Our message to residents is clear; staying local helps to limit the spread of COVID-19, and by shopping local we can support our valued, local high retailers and support local employment”, Hoctor concluded by saying “the Local Enterprise Office is providing a variety of solutions for companies at present in terms of supports and everybody can play their part in supporting the local economy by shopping local, supporting local and being local online”.

The partnership will provide each participating company with 3 signs which will be erected for a 2 week cycle  during August & September 2020 which is usually valued at €450 per company. Participating companies can be from anywhere in County Carlow and are required to have an online trading website and physical store in County Carlow to be part of the campaign and provide their company logo and sample product images in high resolution to take part in this free offer.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis to qualifying companies by registering on www.localenterprise.ie/carlow. Closing date for applications is 29th July 2020 or until fully allocated.
