Fifty females gather for Powerhouse Programme launch.

Seven Oaks Hotel was the location for the launch of the Carlow County Council - Local Enterprise Office, Powerhouse Programme by Cllr. Andrea Dalton Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council. The Powerhouse Women in Business Network Programme 2024 is an inspiring initiative designed to propel women to new heights in the realms of leadership and entrepreneurship.

At the launch event attended by 50 people local businesswomen held in a captivating moment of inspiration and empowerment, Ciara Stanley, Powerhouse Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2023, took the stage to share her remarkable business journey, setting the tone for the upcoming year.

The 2024 programme promises an exciting line-up of events, starting with the celebration of International Women’s Day as part of Enterprise Week on Friday, March 8th. Hosted by the Local Enterprise Office, Carlow County Council, and Cllr. Andrea Dalton Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, the event will feature Radio Presenter Shonagh Lyons as MC and an inspiring panel discussion with notable figures including Jolly O’Rock, Carlow African Support Group, AHA Storytellers, Professor Veronica Campbell, Annette Fox, Emma Butler, and Faith Amond.

This event will be followed by the Annual Powerhouse Picnic, Networking Events and Awards.

Councillor Andrea Dalton, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, emphasized, “The Powerhouse Network is not just a network; it is a movement, a collective force that amplifies the voices of women in business. In the Powerhouse Network, you will find allies who share your commitment to excellence, understand the value of diversity, and believe that the success of one is the success of all.”

Melissa Doyle, Coordinator of Powerhouse Women in Business, added, “In the Powerhouse Women in Business Network, you will find a sisterhood of support, a community of like-minded individuals who understand the unique challenges and triumphs that come with being a female leader. I am delighted to announce another year of planned events for Powerhouse Women in Business.”

Ciara Stanley, Powerhouse Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2023, encouraged other businesswomen, stating, “I would encourage anyone in business or thinking of starting a business to join a network, and if anyone would like to reach out and chat to me, please do not hesitate.”

The Powerhouse Programme is now live on the official website, and registration is essential for attendance at events. Female entrepreneurs interested in sharing their business journey and gaining press coverage are invited to apply for the Powerhouse Picnic panel through the website.
