The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards will take place Friday,18th November 2022 in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow with Sile Seoige as MC. The Awards acknowledges and celebrates women's professional achievements and entries are open to women in business with businesses of less than 10 staff located in County Carlow. the closing date for application entries for the awards is Friday 28th October 2022.
The inaugural awards will have 7 categories which include Powerhouse - Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Powerhouse - Creativity Award, Powerhouse - Excellence in Personal Services, Powerhouse - Best Newcomer/Start-up of the Year, Powerhouse - People’s Choice Award, Powerhouse - Digital Marketing Award and Powerhouse - Employee of the Year Award
Speaking about the event, Cllr. Brian O’Donoghue, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council says ‘Powerhouse Network Awards Event not only celebrates and acknowledges female entrepreneurs, it will promote their business or service.” Cllr. Brian O’Donoghue continued to say ‘The Awards Event honours all businesses and the women behind the success’.
Melissa Doyle co-ordinator of the Powerhouse Women in Business Network on behalf of the Carlow County Council Local Enterprise Office says, ‘I am looking forward to seeing the female entrepreneurs putting themselves forward for the Awards and gaining the recognition and value for their hard work to date’. Melissa continued to say, ‘The awards is a celebration evening to recognise the best of our County’s home-grown talent and to gain opportunities to drive your businesses forward”.
Each finalist of the Awards will also be sent on a Powerhouse – Female Entrepreneur Retreat Day with Sonya Lennon. The objective of this retreat day is to inspire and equip high-potential, female-led SMEs in Carlow to meet their potential and overcome challenges to thriving businesses.
The event will commence at 7pm with dinner followed by the awards ceremony in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow. Closing date for applications is Friday 28th October 2022.
