Applications Open for Festivals & Community Tourism Venue Funds

Carlow County Council has provided funding for festival and event organisers and community led tourism venues to aid with the development and promotion of events and venues in County Carlow during 2017.  This grant scheme aims to promote and support local festivals and to support and assist those events that have a tourism, cultural/artistic or community perspective.

The main purpose of the Grant Scheme is to provide financial assistance to individuals, groups and organisations engaged in projects, events or developments at local level. The emphasis of the scheme is on providing funding for a diverse range of projects thus ensuring that the limited financial resources available are used to the maximum benefit of the community at large.

Interested parties should note that:

• This scheme is for Community led projects only. Commercial for profit organisations are not eligible to apply.
• Sporting organisations / events are not eligible under this scheme.
• St. Patricks Day Events & Activities are not eligible under this scheme

The larger knock on effect of many of these venues, festivals and events is of course their very valuable contribution to the tourism opportunities which County Carlow has to offer and of course, the economic benefit to County Carlow’s businesses and trades people, including employment on a seasonal or semi-permanent basis.
