The National Enterprise Awards will take place in Dublin during June 2016. This week, the Local Enterprise Office Carlow will announce the winner of the County competition to identify Carlow’s best micro enterprise. The County winner will go forward to represent Carlow in the National Finals and compete against 31 winning firms from around Ireland.

The ‘Final Four’ selected companies are:

  • Paul & Olivia McNally – McNally Denture Clinic
  • Kevin O’Neill – OnCraft
  • Diarmuid Byrne – EquiRatings
  • Martin Rice – New Haven Kitchens & Bedrooms Ltd

The National Enterprise Awards were introduced in 1997 and recognises the contribution that small businesses make to the Irish economy. The National Enterprise Awards competition is open to small businesses that have received support from the former CEBs or the LEO.

Congratulating the ‘Final Four’, Head of Enterprise with the Council’s Local Enterprise Office, Kieran Comerford, said: “In 2015, the Local Enterprise Offices supported over 2,000 entrepreneurs and start-ups from all over the county, including all of our finalists. These awards showcase the innovation, creativity and the development potential within Irish SMEs from all across Ireland.  By highlighting all those business success stories, the National Enterprise Awards give recognition to Ireland’s small business heroes”

Previous winners of the competition have included My Bio from Kilkenny, Irish Yoghurts from West Cork, Hot Irish Whiskey (Walsh Whiskey) from Carlow and Innovate Telecoms and IT from Wexford. The County Final will be announced at a special ceremony to be held this Thursday in the Lord Bagenal Hotel, Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow.
