Council announces media partnership with Nationalist to promote County Carlow Christmas Programme

Carlow County Council have announced a media partnership with the Carlow Nationalist in order to promote the many activities in County Carlow during the festive period.

The partnership will see the Nationalist in partnership with Carlow County Council developing a local and regional publication in association with the Irish Times which contains details of events in County Carlow designed for all.

Speaking about the partnership, Kathleen Holohan , Chief Executive of Carlow County Council said “we are delighted to be working with the Nationalist in the promotion of County Carlow as a place to experience during the Christmas period and understand the many community and commercial events and activities during the period and this partnership will result in greater awareness of these events”. Holohan continued to say “Carlow County Council in 2018 will support a variety of County wide projects and programmes this year including a 3 Day Christmas Village which will be announced later in the season as well as an enhanced Carlow Culinary Christmas experience to name but a few things that are planned. ” , Holohan said “she would encourage both community and commercial organisations to get involved in this process and that success requires buy in from all to ensure that the public have a great awareness of the variety of opportunities for all”.

Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council Cllr. Brian O’Donoghue said “partnership is key to success for counties during the Christmas period and I am delighted to see Carlow County Council taking a leading role in the Christmas Programme for 2018” , O’Donoghue continued by saying “we look forward to working with organisations like County Carlow Chamber , Carlow Tourism , Carlow Regional Youth Services , Local Development Groups and commercial providers in order to make County Carlow the best possible experience for all during the festive period”.

Speaking about the partnership , Mike Moore , Group Commercial Manager with the Nationalist said “We’re thrilled to be working with the Carlow community again to help with the launch and promotion of the County Carlow Christmas Experience” , Moore continued to say “local media is at the heart of communities across County Carlow and it’s important that we play our part at this time of year”.
