Council announces partnerships to provide free advertising and support to SME business community in County Carlow

Today (24th October 2020) , Carlow County Council and its Local Enterprise Office has announced a series of promotional and development support opportunities for County Carlow enterprises which include free advertising packages with KCLR & Touchpoint media and specialized training to support and guide companies over the coming weeks.

The supports are open to all companies who operate in County Carlow and include:

  • Free 20 X 20 Second Advert Campaigns in association with KCLR
  • Free Advertising Signage with Bee Visible in association
  • Free places for Retailers on The Business Box Christmas 2020 Are you Retail Ready with Irish Retail Expert – James Burke & Lara Curry on this Wednesday 28th October 2020 @ 3.00pm

Further supports in association with Carlow Tourism & County Carlow Chamber will be announced in the coming weeks and the above supports are in addition to the full suite of supports already available from the Local Enterprise Office.

Welcoming the supports,  Cllr. Tom O’Neill,  Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council said “We all need to shop local at this point and support the business community that can physically trade during the current Covid restrictions while also making the choice when shopping online to be local online and purchasing from enterprises located in County Carlow that can’t physically open but continue to provide products and services via online sales and click and collect services”.

The Cathaoirleach continued to say, “for companies who have yet to develop their business online , I’d encourage companies to engage with the Local Enterprise Office and its Trading Online Voucher Scheme and associated supports”. “To date in 2020 we have approved €313,000 worth of Trading Online Supports via the Scheme which is a tenfold increase on the level of support provided in 2019”. The trading online voucher is an initiative which aims to support small Irish businesses to enhance their online trading presence. Vouchers to the value of €2,500 (90% of eligible costs up to the maximum of €2,500).

The Cathaoirleach concluded by saying “As a Local Authority we will continue to do what we can to support our business community in partnership with national government and local partners and I’d personally like to thank John Purcell and his team at KCLR and Ger Walsh and her team at Touchpoint Media for working with us on these supports”

The supports include free attendance at a specialized Seminar to support retailers hosted by Irish Retail Expert , James Burke and international merchandiser expert Lara Curry on Wednesday next at 3.30pm. Christmas 2020 will be potentially more important than most in recent years in terms of business survival and this seminar will offer practical solutions and winning tips for business.

Advising on how companies can avail of the suite of supports , Kieran Comerford, Head of Enterprise with Carlow County Councils – Local Enterprise Office said “the suite of supports can be booked on our website and further information is available by e-mailing enterprise@carlowcoco.ie or by calling 059-9129783”. The Head of Enterprise continued to say "The impact of COVID-19 has been severe for businesses across all sectors and while we know the future remains uncertain and the coming months will certainly be challenging we are encouraging all SMEs to leverage the opportunity to engage with the Local Enterprise Office to avail of the suite of supports available”.

Package One: #shopcarlow #belocalonline Free Bee Visible Billboard with Touchpoint Media  for Click & Collect & currently physically operating enterprises in County Carlow from 4th November 2020 – 12th January 2021

No of Places 10

Carlow County Council & Touchpoint Media which provide local companies with free advertising on Bee Visible Signage in 1 of 20 locations in Carlow Town during November & December 2020.  Each Company will receive 1 panel for a period of 10 weeks as part of this free project which is designed to encourage people

The partnership will provide each participating company with 1 sign which will be erected for a 10 week cycle campaign. The advertising is valued at €450 per company.

Participating companies must:

  • Be Located in County Carlow
  • Have an operating physical store and/or online shop
  • Have Brand Photography (or agreed stock photography) & Company Available in High Resolution for the campaign.
  • Have a current click and collect and or physical offering.

Companies can only avail of one offering as part of the KCLR & Touchpoint Media Offering.

 Each Client will be provided with 1 X 1180x1580mm* (WxH) printed on 5mm corriboard sign for the scheme which will be stored for a 6 months period following the initial campaign.

Location of signs will be decided by Touchpoint Media

The design of the sign will be based on a template.

Each Company will receive 20 X 20 second adverts which will be broadcast over a 4 week period. The company will also have the choice to provide a prize for an online competition for further exposure.  The advertising is valued at €450 per company.

 Participating companies must:

  •  Be Located in County Carlow
  • Be a Food, Drink & Hospitality  establishments operating click and collect / take away etc.

 Companies can only avail of one offering as part of the KCLR & Touchpoint Media Offering.

 Each Client will work with provide KCLR with an agreed script for use on Radio.

The production of the advert will be based on a template.

Each Company will receive 20 X 20 second adverts which will be broadcast over a 4 week period. The company will also have the choice to provide a prize for an online competition for further exposure.  The advertising is valued at €450 per company.

Participating companies must:

  •  Be Located in County Carlow
  • Be operating in the Retail Sector. 

 Companies can only avail of one offering as part of the KCLR & Touchpoint Media Offering.

 Each Client will work with provide KCLR with an agreed script for use on Radio.

The production of the advert will be based on a template.
