The survey also notes that these employees are engaged in the operations of 2,975 different franchise units across a wide range of sectors ranging from retailing and food service right through to an interesting selection of business-to-business and business-to-consumer services.

Ireland’s improved economic position, strong economic, employment and productivity growth, combined with cost competitiveness and the availability of talent have contributed to Ireland’s improved international competitiveness.  Since 2011, Ireland’s relative international competitiveness, as measured by a range of international indices, has improved and Ireland has moved from 16th to 7th in 2016 in the IMD’s World Competitiveness Yearbook.  This and the strong ethical franchise culture in Ireland has attracted the highest ever number of global Franchises to Ireland for the Franchise Show in September.  Ceri Rogers, Director of the Irish Franchise Show said “Here at MFV, we are tremendously excited to bring our Franchise show to Dublin in September. The energy and enthusiasm among potential franchisees in Ireland combined with the great national and International brands involved will put The Franchise Show Ireland on the global franchise events map.’

As a result of redundancy, job dissatisfaction, or just a deep-rooted entrepreneurial desire, Ireland is rapidly awakening to the vast opportunities to be found in franchising. The Irish Franchise Show will be the highlight of the franchising calendar for 2016.  This Irish Franchise Show is the only Franchise exhibition in Ireland that will be fully endorsed by the Irish Franchise Association. David Killeen Chairman of the Irish Franchise Association, commented “Our mission is to promote and develop best practice franchising in Ireland and create an environment within which franchising can grow’ We strongly appeal to all active franchisors to get firmly behind this initiative and give it their full support and we are delighted to see so many major players from overseas bringing exciting Franchise concepts and opportunities to our shores.
