Image of Carlow Food Tourism Appeal will be on the Menu at Carlow’s Culinary Christmas

Food producers this week got an image makeover, as part of the County Carlow food tourism project. The Local Enterprise Office and Carlow Tourism are promoting the counties food and drink business producers with an energising image campaign.

Over the past two weeks, to distinguish the County as a food tourism destination and grab a piece of the domestic and international culinary tourism pie, photo shoots have been taken place in studio and on the various sites of the Carlow food producers . Rachel Doyle from Rara Photography has spent time photographing the food producers and their products and has captured some tasty images for a new Tourism Directory, saying that "Having the right image is really important for small companies, this shoot is aimed at producing professional photography that the Carlow Tourism and The Local Enterprise Office as well as the producers can use to promote their business and their products, in the new food trail directory, which will attract national and international attention, which in turn will draw additional business and attention to all that Carlow has to offer to the food tourist"

Attracting Tourism is be done in many ways, one way is through food. Not too long ago, relatively little thought was given to Carlow cuisine’s potential as a tourist draw. But now with the more concerned tourist, meals made with passion grown locally, are being targeted by promotion campaigns and used as unique selling point by our local restaurants, having fresh locally sourced produce.

Kieran Comerford, Head of Leo said “Carlow’s food producers played an influential role in pushing for the Directory and branding itself as a source of local producers within County Carlow”

The participating businesses are delighted to share their story and Image at Carlow’s Culinary Christmas Event which is a free event being held on Wednesday the 9th of September in the Visual at the George Bernard Shaw Theatre.   Catherine Fulvio will be on site cooking up festive foods from the local producers, Colette Fitzpatrick will host lively banter at the chef table with a selection of guest panellists.
