Local Enterprise Office Carlow launches Autumn/Winter Business Training Programme

Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office has launched a programme of high quality business training initiatives to take place in Autumn and Winter 2023. The training programme, which is part of the LEO's broader range of business support activities, is aimed at the owners and key staff of Carlow businesses and those considering setting up a business in Carlow.

Amongst the wide range of training programmes being offered by the Local Enterprise Office for the remainder of 2023 are ‘Enhancing the Customer Experience with a Digital Approach’, ‘Understanding Public Procurement’, ‘Trading Online’ and ‘Instagram for Business’. The LEO are also offering two of their ever popular ‘Start Your Own Business’ programmes.

Cllr Andrea Dalton, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council encouraged all Carlow business owners to look at the opportunities available to them to upskill through the Local Enterprise Office in 2023: “Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office have developed an excellent programme of timely training supports to help Carlow businesses develop their skillset and grow in a strategic manner. I encourage all local businesses to engage with the Local Enterprise Office and to take advantage of these opportunities.”

Sarah Byrne, Acting Business Advisor with the Local Enterprise Office said “An important part of our role in supporting local businesses is to work with business owners to assess their developmental needs and to put supports in place which will help them and their businesses to reach their full potential. This training programme has been developed to meet the needs of Carlow businesses and to help them plan for their future strategic growth.”

Melissa Doyle, Business Advisor added “Training is only one of the many supports we will organise for businesses in the coming months. We have a variety of networking and informational events planned for the remainder of 2023 which will give Carlow businesses a chance to consider their plans for this year and beyond. Details of all our activities are updated regularly on our website and social media.”

According to Séamus Doran, Assistant Head of Economic Development & Enterprise in the Local Enterprise Office “The supports we offer are tailored to the different growth stages of our client businesses, from those exploring entrepreneurship for the first time to established businesses hoping to expand into overseas markets.”

He outlined some of the supports being offered to more established businesses in the coming months “The Local Enterprise Office will facilitate a number of Carlow businesses to explore new export opportunities in Scotland in October. This programme will support some companies to export for the first time. We also have a number of high profile public events planned including a South East Digital Conference in November and a breakfast seminar with economist Jim Power to look at opportunities for growth into 2024.”
