Open call for new membership of FORM

FORM is inviting applications from new members.

The FORM network consists of designer makers and craftspeople, who create high quality home ware, gifts and wearable pieces. All of the group, which is made up of jewellery makers, furniture makers, textile artists and designers, wood turners and ceramicists, live and work in Co Carlow and have come together to promote their work and raise the awareness of their individual craft enterprises.

According to Pauline Hoctor, Business Advisor with the Local Enterprise Office “FORM is part funded by the Local Enterprise Office Carlow as part of the business supports of Carlow County Council. The members of the group are keen to emphasis their individual craft roots. But, in creating handcrafted high-quality objects, FORM also reflects contemporary craft’s engagement with new technology and ideas and the breaking down of the boundaries that have traditionally existed between art, design and craft. The group come together throughout the year to undertake promotional activities, group training and trade missions.”

Successful applicants must fulfil the following criteria; be a full time, professional designer maker/craftsperson, design and make your own work to a high standard, be based in County Carlow and its environs, preferably have been in business for two years or more. The Selection Process involves a two-stage process. Stage one involves submitting a completed application form, CV and images of your work. If successful in stage one, you may be asked to submit a selection of work at stage two for review by a selection panel. The closing date for the receipt of applications is March 8th, 2018.
