Opportunity for Businesswomen to enter the Powerhouse Women in Business Awards 2023

The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards is running for a second year after a very successful event last year. The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards acknowledges and celebrates women's professional achievements and entries are open to women in business located in County of Carlow. The Awards will be presented on Friday 10th November 2023 in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel with well-known TV presenter Sile Seoige in celebration of some of the most inspiring and dedicated businesswomen.

The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards have 7 categories which include Powerhouse - Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Powerhouse - Creativity Award, Powerhouse - Excellence in Personal Services, Powerhouse - Best Newcomer/Start-up of the Year, Powerhouse - People’s Choice Award, Powerhouse - Digital Marketing Award & Powerhouse - Employee of the Year Award.

The Awards aim to acknowledge and promote SMEs based in County Carlow who have developed their business. The awards are open to companies and individuals with less than 10 full time employees based in County Carlow.

Speaking about the event, Cllr Andrea Dalton, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council says, ‘Powerhouse Women in Business Awards is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of small businesses in the County of Carlow and to recognise the vital contribution they pay to the economy.’  Cllr. Andrea Dalton continued to say, ‘The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards acknowledges innovation, resilience and strength of each businesswoman in Carlow.’ Speaking about the importance of supporting our Business Community Andrea concluded by saying, "Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community and supporting them is not just a matter of economics; it's about nurturing the heart and soul of our local identity. They provide jobs for our neighbours, contribute to our tax base, and help create vibrant, thriving neighbourhoods. But it goes beyond that. Small businesses bring innovation, diversity, and a sense of community spirit to our town. They are run by people who live here, who invest in our schools, and who care deeply about our shared future. When we support small businesses, we're not just investing in their success; we're investing in the well-being and prosperity of our entire community."

Melissa Doyle co-ordinator of the Powerhouse Women in Business Network on behalf of the Carlow County Council Local Enterprise Office says, ‘The Powerhouse Awards is a great way to showcase and promote the success of the business, it also attracts more attention and therefore attains creditability. These awards celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of women in business and seeks recognition of their efforts. Melissa continued to say, ‘The awards are open to all Women in Business in County Carlow and I wish them all the very best of luck’.

The event will commence at 6.30pm with dinner followed by the awards ceremony. Entries open from 8th September 2023 – 2nd October 2023. Finalists will receive 4 free tickets to the County Carlow - Powerhouse Women in Business Awards which will be held on 10th November 2023.
