Energetic, inspirational and uplifting are three words that describe the sharing of enterprise and leadership stories which happened at the Business Picnic that took place on 5th July 2018 in Ireland’s top garden and lifestyle destination Arboretum.
Eight leaders and entrepreneurs shared their personal challenges, stories and words of wisdom on stage in the capable hands of host Anton Savage with the support of Irish Mammies Champion and comedian, Colm O’Regan who entertained with his own dose of humour therapy on business methods.
The panel was Rachel Doyle,Arboretum, Sean Gallagher, Niall Kelly,Netwatch, Tony Wright from Wright Insurance Brokers, Conal O’Boyle – Carlow Nationalist, Kathleen Holohan, Carlow County Council, Cormac Tobin, Former CEO Celesio UK & Ireland, and Eoghan Ó Searcóid of Brandyfloss whom all shared their secrets to success and lessons learned from their lifetime of experience in business.
This year the event was brought to life by Carlow County Council and the Local Enterprise Office in partnership with Wright Insurance Brokers, Arboretum and Netwatch.
Speaking of the event, The Head of the Local Enterprise Office Carlow, Kieran Comerford said: “The fastest and surest way to build solid business contacts today is through networking, however, networking is not only about making new connections, it is also about building lasting and mutually beneficial business relationships.”
Speaking about the event, Tony Wright from Wright Insurance Brokers said “We in Wright Insurance Brokers were delighted to be able to support the Business Picnic this year which acts as a catalyst for people developing connections in the South East”, Wright continued to say “I was personally delighted to be part of the panel of contributors who took to the stage and thank each of them for sharing their personal journey and helping to create a motivational atmosphere around them while they chatted to Anton and shared their highs and lows of enterprise experience”, Tony concluded by saying “personally I believe people do business with people and networking events and the sharing of enterprise experiences really helps create a supportive enterprising eco-system”.
Panellist for the event,Kathleen Holohan, Chief Executive with Carlow County Council said “I was delighted to be part of the Picnic and thank all for attending and for our partners Wright Insurance Brokers, Netwatch and Arboretum, all who work in partnership with us to make the Picnic a significant opportunity for the business community to build connections”, Holohan continued to say “We in Carlow County Council are committed to helping our Business Community find new ways to market themselves through connecting and learning from their peers”. Holohanconcluded by saying “Since 2014 and the establishment of our Local Enterprise Office, our business support and economic development programme has grown to become an essential support service of Carlow County Council, helping our business community in practical ways by showcasing their products and services, and connecting them with mentors, services and fellow entrepreneurs”.
